Giving thanks during a pandemic.
Bryan, as an adult, has been living in an apartment with a roommate since 2011. However, during the pandemic, he elected to come back home to live with Mom and Dad for several months during the height of the Covid Spring Surge.
While at home, I found that we had to tightly structure his day for everybody’s sake. Part of that schedule was time for singing and piano practice. As you will learn through my posts, Bryan loves his music.
He was working on a song at the time for his music therapy lessons and asked if I could make a video of him singing “Thankful” and post it on my Facebook page.
His reasoning was that maybe his song could make people recognize and feel grateful for what they already have in their lives.
The diction isn’t perfect. But it is more understandable than his speech. Bryan’s disfluency is not nearly as noticeable when he sings.
At the end of the song, he kneels. This was unscripted and “pure Bryan”. May you be blessed by his first message : “Thankful” written by Carole Bayer Sager, David Foster and Richard Page.
