A new place to live!

My worst fears were realized. Bryan’s initial move-in date of early July came and went. Then a new date was proposed for the week after we returned from our vacation. Still July. Works for us. And, then, that date was not going to work because so much work needed to go into the house to make it ready for Bryan and his roommate, Sean.

And, so, the new date was right when Ed and I were to fly to Minnesota. We couldn’t help Bryan. He was very upset. August 4. We wanted to be there for him as we had been for all major events in his life, but it just was not to be. All of us were quite bummed.

Ed flew back early on August 4 and went to help Bryan a little on the evening of August 5. I was in Minnesota helping with an music and arts camps all week. Once I was done playing for church the day after I returned, the three of us went to Bryan’s new home and worked for six hours straight.

We hung pictures, did laundry, filled the linen closet, installed a storage unit in the bathroom, unearthed clothing, shoes, books, electronics, etc. and tried to fit it all into his new bedroom. I could see the relief on his face when the last box of books was emptied.

There are still items I cannot find. Perhaps they are in the garage or some other place in the home. We will go down on Friday to try to find and put away all of his other stuff. But, the lion’s share of the work is done. He is in his new home.

It has the requisite back patio with his furniture on it. There is a shed and a nice big yard for Sean to mow. The staff that stay with the guys have a bedroom as well.

We’ll get there eventually. Bryan seems quite happy in his new digs. And I’m hoping he can live here for another fourteen years as he did in his Doylestown apartment.

Here’s to a bright Warminster future!
